Medical Elective Africa provides aspiring and current medical and nursing students from abroad, a rare opportunity for hands-on clinical experience, cultural exchange and medical volunteering in hospitals across Malawi. We are a leading organizer of medical placements in Africa. The medical / nursing students program is designed to provide participants with opportunities to enhance the various components of their medical / nursing education in a clinical setting and with extensive hands-on experience that the international students would not get in their home countries. We have strong relationships with both central referral hospitals and district hospitals in Malawi in which we place our student doctors and nurses that they work with, ensuring a very productive experience. The students acquire an invaluable opportunity to work in a low resource setting which supports character development and benefits the local community. We evaluate our students during and at the end of the program to ensure that the program objectives are met.
